Goodwill Industries of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, Inc. is a private, nonprofit corporation that provides vocational and educational opportunities for people with barriers to employment to improve their work skills and enhance their economic independence. Goodwill's services are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Goodwill is funded primarily through the collection and resale of donated goods at retail stores located throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Goodwill believes in the inherent value of work and the concept that people deserve the opportunity to reach their maximum potential and the highest level of self-sufficiency.
The purpose of Goodwill Industries of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, Inc. is to provide vocational training and job placement services to individuals with barriers to employment. Goodwill provides services to approximately 2,000 individuals annually, helping hundreds get off welfare and changing lives through the power of work.
Goodwill Industries of Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, Inc. provides the following workforce services:
Goodwill conducts Job Club at four locations throughout Ventura County, with one conducted in Spanish. Job Club serves 750-1,200 CalWORKs clients annually, providing job skills and work experience and job placement.
Contracted through the Santa Barbara County Probation Department, ex-offenders in Lompoc receive employment preparation, skills training and job placement services.
